I ve got an itch for this gun for some reason. Not a need, but a want....I have an SP 101 that is a great carry but a little on the heavy side. I also have an ultra light Taurus 85. Somthing about the shrouded hammer and weight is the attraction, plus I can carry it with a DeSantis pocket holster in the summer with no problem. Does anyone have one of these, and how do you like it?. I hear the best loads to use are JHP 110 grains from Con Bor. Thanks

"Model 636"

Was this a typo and you meant Model 638?

I have a model 638 bodyguard.... its a great shooter.. accurate as all get out, and just as handy as my old model 49. If you're already wanting on one, then shooting one will make you a convert...

Like ths?  Well, actually it's a 649...

My everyday CCW, well, 90% of the time. Easily the most comfortable and concealable for me.

I've got it stoked with the Winchester Gold 180 gr. per my readings from the Terminal Effects forum (re: DocGKR), figured I'd take advantage of both the caliber and frame/weight. A couple cylinders does put the sting on the palm, but it is manageable, I'd feel very confident using it at 15 yd and under ranges. This gun is the default, if I have any concerns about being better armed it becomes the bug to one of the 1911's.

It's one of my all time favorites, get one!

The 638 is nice, I also highly recommend it.
