| I was at the local shop, and decided to pick up a nice S&W model 29 classic with a 6.5" barrel. The blueing is almost perfect (just some muzzle wear basically), and the price was right ($369)... I shot it, and I could not stop smiling for about 30 minutes... This thing is going to be fun... |
| I've had my model 29 for 15 years. As I got older (granddaughter says I'm older than dirt) the recoil of the full house 44mags started to bother me. I sent it to Magna Port. Wow! what a job they do. Now the kick isn't any harder than a 357 and I can shoot it all day long. |

Hah, must be the season... I picked up a 6" M29, total safe queen, under the used counter for $400. I didn't even want to bicker on the price out of fear it'd disappear! I believe it's a ?29-5?, which means updated lockwork, but still hammer-mounted firing pin. With Fed Am Eagle ammo (240grs) and a Holosight on top just for deer season, I shot a 2-hole 6-shot group on the 50yd line while sighting it in. Hell, I outshot half the 30-30's on the line! Awesome gun. Definite keeper. Very happy handloader, and soon-to-be boar hunter! |

Those would easily cost $450-500 here. |
