Was out shooting yesterday and decided to run a few rounds for the first time through my Cimarron El-Malo,  which I bought a few months ago for giggles.
It seems the hammer is not seating all the way down, but I'm not sure. Not one round would fire.
Any suggestions?

Did you inspect it, function-check it, and fire it when you bought it?

My first step with a used revolver would be to clean everything out that you can get to and lube it well. Then work the hammer to see if that restores its full range of forward motion. Could just be gunked up.

If that doesn't work, look up a disassembly video and check the internal works for any obstructions, broken springs, or other problems.

I bought it new, did not test fire. After watching a few videos, I cleaned  it prior to firing it.
I have never owned or shot a single six before.

Single six. Is a ruger product so proper term would be single action.
I am not 100% sure but the cimmaron may have been one of the brands that use the center cylinder pin as a safety to allow for importation- cylinder  pin is extra long and has two locking steps- in all the way block hammer no fire. Pull out to next locking step and should work normally

this was exactly the problem. I read the manual a few months ago,  should of re-read prior to shooting.
Thank you.
