I looking to get a 686 (357) what does "NO DASH " mean ?

I've seen some that is  686 - and a number  not sure but I think that's it !!!

The dashes are changes to the gun.  Like different revisions.  Usually it means they found a way to make it cheaper.  I picked up a 686-3 with a 4 inch barrel 2 weeks ago for $300 OTD.

I already knew that. I thought he was talking about something else. 686-5 here. IBTL (The lock on the gun that is.)
