I picked-up these two Colt PPs this week.

The top one is in .32 Long and the Bottom one is in .38 S&W.

The .38 was made in 1942 and came out of Britain.

The .32 had a cracked set of Franzite stocks on it but my LGS had a set of new old stock Colt stocks to fit it.

Counting the stocks and vintage ammo pictured I have $300.00 in them.

Sweet.......I love the old Colts. Here is mine. It started out as a PP with a 6" barrel, but I picked up a 3" Det. Spl. barrel and had that installed:

I picked up one recently, a post-WW2 (I was told) model in .22LR, 6" bbl. Haven't shot it yet but look forward to doing so. The only one I've ever seen in .22LR, FWIW.

Great pair.

I don't know how you come up with such fantastic deals, but that's for sharing that nice pair of Colt's. I just purchased a Police Positive Special with a 3" barrel a couple of weeks ago.

Here are a couple more of my PPs, both in .38 special. The stubbie was cut down from a US Government marked PP..

The top one while it don't look like much is one of my best shooting revolvers.

I just picked up a Smith K38 Combat Masterpiece yesterday so there goes this month's revolver budget.  However, I still have an Official Police and Detective Special on my very short list of revolvers to get.  BTW, is it just me or does the shape of the grips of the older pre-war models with the bakelite grips seem to have a different shape than later models like a late 60's vintage?

The '60s models had a shorter grip frame. The stocks touch on about the last half inch of their length. The bottoms are more rounded as well.

The round profile grip on 2nd type PPs was popular for export. In fact the Dutch Contract PP looks just like my revolver except for a lanyard ring. Can't say why. The one with no finish left was exported and has a provision for a lanyard ring.
