Well after picking up the 19-3 I'm officially addicted.  Was looking at one of these now.  Anybody have any experience with them?

586, yes. L comp, no.

If you find one, buy it, IMO.

I've never had an L-Comp, but I did have a 66 F-Comp. Honestly, after having Karl Sokol build revolvers for me the Performance Center trigger absolutely sucked. Back in the day the PC built beautiful custom guns. Now, they are just semi-custom production guns. I sold the F-Comp but my safes are full of Sokol Customs. There are plenty of talented gunsmiths out there. Treat yourself to a fine custom revolver. You'll appreciate it much more than a PC gun.

This is my latest:
4" 65 shortened to 2-1/2", slab side barrel, recessed muzzle
Dovetailed barrel for a custom made fiber optic front sight
Spring and ball detent to replace the front locking point usually at the end of the ejector
Internal trigger overtravel stop
Chambers chamfered
Action smoothed without lightening trigger pull
DAO conversion
Hammer semi-bobbed so I can still spin the cylinder to check for high primers
PGS Hideout Grips
Sharp edges dehorned
Beadblasted finish

I started with a 4" 65 for a few reasons. One, I like the 2-1/2" barrel length but my custom 2-1/2" 66 has two features I don't like. One, no full length ejector like you have on 3" and longer guns. And two, I prefer adjustable sights. Sure, I could have had Karl just build me a 3" 65 (actually, I already did!), but this is a true custom built exactly to my specs. That's something you don't get with a PC production run. If you're happy with a nice gun that's the same as the gun thousands of other people own, the L-Comp is fine. If you want an heirloom grade gun, bite the bullet and have a one-off custom built. And having Karl build something like mine is surprisingly affordable. This one will be passed down to one lucky person when I'm old, but it's going to have a lot of holster wear on it.

That's a nice looking gun.  I gotta say, I'm a fan of S&W PC revolvers so I'd so go for it.  I don't have a 586 L-Comp but I do have a 627 V-Comp and it is an incredibly smooth shooting gun.  When I bring the gun to the range people gather around to see the crazy lady blasting away with a .44 magnum hand cannon.  Yes it's a handful but it's actually my very favorite gun to shoot.  The S&W PC revolvers are just sweet, they have an amazingly smooth double action pull and single action break that will make you smile even with big magnum calibers.  The compensating ports on my V-Comp really play a huge part in making the gun both controllable and comfortable so the 586 L-Comp, being both a PC revolver and compensated also, should be just as sweet.
