I have a Ruger Redhawk 7inch and love it to death , I recently bought some ammo (not really looking at it /online) , it showed  up the other day and it feels funny , it COP 200 gr all copper hollow point , says that makes it environmentally friendly (whatever) , anyway for such a big round its light as a feather and that bullet doesn't look like it could do any damage to anything , I mean the center is hollowed out all right but its like paper thin, I'm thinking unless my target is right in front of me this round wont be doing anything , it would appear that in ten feet it will have mushroomed just on the air velocity alone let alone penetration?

Anyone ever shot these rounds? I plan on shooting this in the next several days ,but would really like to hear from someone who has experience with these copper rounds!!!

What does it say on the box?

I shoot 200 gr. Hornady XTP in my rifle and they are excellent bullets, but I have no idea what you have.

More information, please.

Sounds like it's loaded with Barnes X bullet, a solid copper projectile.
Reliably expands even through denim and leather.
No jacket to separate from the core.

I use DPX in both my 380 and 38.
DPX also uses the X bullet.

I have the all copper DPX for my 357mag, they are good rounds, expensive though.

this the ammo right here , but I got a better deal somewhere else cheaper than dirt

You guys that have the copper bullets ,can you tell how well they shoot , it seems a whole lot lighter without the lead, not sure if that makes a difference or not though

Look up Ventura Ammunitons.

I've not hunted with them but from an accuracy standpoint the Corbon DPX ammo rocks. It's designed for excellent performance so even if there's a weight discrepancy I have no doubt it would perform perfectly and get the job done, that is of course my opinion.

Well we'll see how it shoots ,I plan on hitting the range possibly tomorrow , I have alot of testing to do , I am testing about 10 different JHP in 9mm , , plus taking my newly built AR out (swmp lower, cmmg parts kit ,bcm upper, bcm barrel, bcm bcg, M4 ) also testing out my new Caracal C , BUT THESE .44 MAG ROUNDS LOOK TO BE INTERESTING AS WELL!

Shouldn't a 200gr copper bullet weigh the same amount as a 200gr lead bullet?

Weight, yes, but density and therefore length no. Though it does seem odd to mention weight differences, you're right.

the copper rounds shot well , surprisingly , I wish I had a scope for my redhawk though!
