Ive read alittle about the pistol and am going to look at one tomorrow. Looking for someone to point to threads about it or to tell me about quality of the pistol and the company. Does anyone make a holster for the 40ds? And info on them would be nice

Don't own, but I handled one at my range and put about 20 rounds through one.

I'm not sure the model, but it was the 4" .357. It was at a bowling pin shoot at my club. One of the board members is an FFL, and brings along new toys to try at our shoots.

We have a "hogans alley:" of random pins set up on one berm, while others shoot the timed five pin tables.

Minor cons to the Chiappa.

- Lockwork is complicated. Although I don't see how it should fail.
- Grips are kind of cheesy in terms of quality.
- Fit/finish quality is a bit more like a Taurus/Charter level. For the price it should be Ruger/S&W.
- Trigger was a bit more like a DA/SA semi-autos. Still pretty good overall, but if you want the S&W Single Action "glass rod" trigger break, you'll be disappointed.
- Sort of a repeat, but the price is a bit high for what you get. It should be more in line with Taurus products. Although some is inflation to it's newness, and it's looks.

Major pro's to the Chiappa.

- Recoil management with the synthetic grips, and the bottom chamber firing... it's like no other revolver I've ever felt. Full load 125gr .357's felt like light wadcutter .38's.
- Pointing/balance/feel in the hand is great. The bottom firing barrel wins again.

Overall, I think it's pluses are huge, and outweigh it's negatives, if you're willing to pay the $150-200 premium over what I think it's "worth",  a premium that I think exists for the Chiappa's relative  newness, and the revolver's futuristic looks command.
