Anyone know who makes one?

Taurus used to, a 2" bbl version of their .45ACP Tracker, may have even been available in the Titanium Lightweight variant (IDK). No idea if it is still produced... and then there is all the Taurus QC and CS issues to consider. I had a 4" Titanium Tracker in .45ACP and it worked just fine, but felt recoil was considerable (esp. compared to my much-heavier 1917s). |

Thanks. I'm new to revolvers. Is there a hammerhead design or a bobbed hammer version? Thanks again for the info. 8654 |

Thanks again for the info. 8654 I bought the 7-shot .357mag version of this gun (386 I think) and sent it off to Cylinder and Slide. They cut and rounded the hammer, trigger job, front night sight, etc..... great stuff |

Quoted: They made the 625 with a 3 inch barrel. http://i630.photobucket.com/albums/uu30/shooting4life/d354ac27.jpg DO WANT! |

Quoted: Most if not all 45 wheel guns will be on the N frame. Not the ideal CCW platform. It can be concealed but requires some thought and attention to belt, holster and clothing. Weight may also be an issue, the 625 is an all steel gun and is a bit hefty. The Taurus I referred to above is a smaller-frame 5-shot... but then it ain't a S&W. |

Just get a S&W 396 Nightguard in.44 Special.
The 5 shot "L" frame cylinder is much smaller than the "N" frame, and you will have virtually the same ballistics as .45acp. Although Smith doesn't have it on their website anymore, you should still be able to find one. When I was at a Manufacturers conference in DC a few years ago I asked the S&W rep to do a 5 shot .45acp with full moon clips. IMHO, this would be the ultimate carry revolver. And yes I know about the Tracker, but I would never use my own money to buy one, much less stake my life on it. |

For me, I am satisfied with other calibers for edc. if i pay $1,000 for a revolver, it most likely would be of Python vintage and not for edc. Too many other, more reasonably priced ones out there to turn into beaters over time.
For perspective, .38Sp +P is satisfactory to me. So i may be the odd ball here. |

| S&W had a 325 with a scandium frame, round butt and 2.5"-ish barrel that, IIRC was set back into the frame slightly. I had one for a short time, but sold it so I could buy an Alaskan Backpacker III model 329 4" 44 mag. Still an N-frame, but about the most concealable ACP revolver you can find. |

That would be the 325PD. Scandium frame, titanium cylinder. 19.8 ounces unloaded. I just picked one up, and an waiting for my Lobo holster to get finished. I'm also working on a "concealable" moon clip holder. It should be done shortly. |
