Just trying to find out what works best.
Thanks CSF |
| I have a HKS, Safariland, and speed strips. I like the HKS better than the Safariland, but I carry with an 8 round speed strip. My friend has a German spring loaded speedloader for his 686+ that is the best I have ever used, and they supposedly make them in a 5-shot version. I don't have one myself because you have to order them from the internet and they are expensive (~3x the cost of a Safariland). I don't remember what they are called off the top of my head though. |

The J frames are tough. There just isn't much clearance and even with practise if you get just a slightly wrong angle the whole operation comes to a halt. Common mistake is to try and force the cartridges too far into the chamber , just get the bullet tips started into the chambers and then let gravity do the rest.
I have a back up gun revolver only plate shoot comeing up next week so I need to get a bit of practise in. In my experience the nickle plated shells are quite a bit "slicker" both in loading and unloading. Best method is to slow down and hit five plates with the first five shots and not have to reload! |
| I have three HKS and three Safariland for my 642 with Charcoal Rosewood Grips and Bodyguard38. The Safariland has better clearance than the HKS and loads faster without the finesse requirement. That being said I would love to have a set of these. |

You're thinking of the S.L. Variant. I bought 3 for my GP-100 and love them. As you say, though they are expensive as hell so I will not be buying anymore. 3 is enough. |
