I'm leaning towards an LCP, because I like the fit and finish of it over the KelTec.  My dad has one of the first gen KelTec 380.  I have shot it and it's not too bad.  My questions are:
1) How does the Ruger trigger pull compare to the KelTec, is it longer, heavier smoother?
2) Does the smoother grip surface of the Ruger make it harder to hold onto?

Trigger pull is very similar.

I dont have any issues holding the gun over my dads kel-tec.

I believe trigger pull is about the same. I can grip it just fine as it has a little relief for your thumb to sit in. I like the addition of the slide release on the LCP. The extractor on the LCP also seems a bit "beefier" than that of the P3AT. This is all my opinion, YMMV.

I dont have the Keltec 380, but I have the LCP, Kel-Tec PF9 and a Taurus TCP.   The trigger on the LCP is heavy - as heavy as the trigger on the PF9, but because the PF9 has more grip area than the LCP, it feels better on the  PF9.  You should look at the Taurus TCP, I bought one and the trigger was way better than my LCP, and now the LCP is sitting at home, while I am carrying the TCP instead.

I picked up the LCP today. Trigger pull is not that bad in my opinion. Pistol feels good in the hand. I bought "The Package" deal at Cabela's. It came with 2 mags, DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster, two sizes of gun rugs(bags), and one finger extension base plate for mag.

I had this same dilemma at the gun store this weekend. They had both and I got a chance to handle both side-by-side. The problem was I liked them both a lot and was having trouble making up my mind so I said to myself "why buy one when you can get two for twice the price" (credit Contact)

So that's what I did Very happy!

I ended up buying the LCP.  I have to say i group better with it than my dad's P3AT.  Same ammo, groups much tighter.  I could be wrong but the LCR did not seem as rough to shoot as the P3AT.  Dad said he thought the same thing.

Pretty much my opinion as well.  I have an LCP, couple friends have the P3AT.  The Ruger's fit and finish, better extractor, and the slide stop are what sold it to me, even though it was quite a bit higher than a P3AT.  That, and I'm a Ruger fan.  (Puts on nomex for all the Ruger-Hater comments to come.)
