Quick question... Do new Ruger SP101's come with the interneal locking thing? If so, about what year did they start putting the locks in the guns?

I am going to buy one very soon and don't really want a revolver with the internal lock deal.

Neither of mine have it. That's one of the main reasons I chose them.

Ruger hasn't started putting it on their DA wheelguns yet, but it will probably come in the next few years. They've already started putting it on some of the blackhawks.......

I would think they would know better than to add locks to their older models like the SP101. Seems a lot of would-be S&W buyers go with Ruger instead, mainly because of the internal lock issue.

The LCR has one. Probably won't be long before the GP100 and SP101 get them too.

Right, but the LCR has had a lock since its inception; it's integral to the original design. Adding locks to older models like the GP100 and SP101 - models that originally did not come with locks - will probably hurt their sales. I'm hoping that Ruger would know this.

My Single Six has one...but you have to drill a hole in one of the grip panels to use it......no hole in my panels...matter of fact..My Single Six now wears my old Vaquero rosewood grips.
