I want to replace my P22 with a Ruger Mk III, and just want to get an idea of what a fair price is for this pistol.

I'm not looking to cut my dealer's throat because I know he has to make a reasonable profit, but I don't want to get hosed either.  What would be fair for both of us?

When you say replace, do you mean you are going to trade or buy it straight up?

I'd be trading the Walther.  Haven't quite settled on what I'd expect for it in trade.

I'm looking for a fair price for the Ruger, so I can go in and offer the P22 plus $X to get in the ballpark.

The problem with the P22 is that is is known as a throw-a-way gun and I doubt anybody in their right mind will take it on trade.  Don't get me wrong, I have one and love it.  You may be better off just keeping it.  Just my 2 cents.

When it comes time to deal I'll decide if I'm better off hanging onto the P22.

In the meantime, do any of you guys know what's a fair price on the Mk III?

granted my local store is usually overpriced ( i think i overpayed by about $50, but didn't have much other local choice), but I just paid $499 for an MKIII Hunter.  I think 450 is a fair price for it, personally.  It is a sweet gun!

I paid $549.00 + tax with th CT laser grips. I know that's a good price considering I have MY FFL over for BBQ's.

I just saw it on the internet for $445 shipped to my FFL's door...That doesn't include FFL fees on my end...My FFL charged me $20 for each transfer...So, for $465 I could have a Ruger MkII Hunter in 22lr in my stable of guns...

I paid $450 today for a Mark III Hunter.

Davidson's has it listed for $455.99 at several of my local dealers.

Can't wait to try this puppy out.
