I took my 22/45 to the range last weekend and enjoyed it very much and it worked perfect for what I purchased it for. However it had a feeding problem that would happen every third mag or so and almost half the rounds especialy the first round would dive into the feed ramp and put a big gash in the center of the bullet. I was using Golden Bullets from Rem. Does any one have an idea of what was going on? Thanks.

Clean it, then try some different ammo.  22 autoloaders can be fickle on what ammo they like.  No rhyme or reason to it, just the nature of the beast.  Can be especially fickle with the bulk pack hollow points.

Buy a half a dozen different brands and see which one your gun likes.

+1 on above. Also, number or  otherwise mark your mags! Frequently, very small differences between mags can cause problems. By numbering them, you can find out if one mag has an attitude problem.

sounds like a mag problem.  Like Frank said, mark them and keep track of which one is not working.

May be a weak mag spring or the follower dragging or something.  I got sand on one once and it would act like that.

Do they use the same mag springs as the regular Mark 2s ?

you can goto the ruger site and download the manuals and parts breakdown and find out.  I did that when I buggered up some parts once.  Found out that the trigger parts in the redhawk and super redhawk are similar enough to exchange.

My 22/45 doesnt like those bullets at all.  I run CCI minimags or CCI standard velocity and it runs perfectly.   I can even get away with rem subsonics if running with the suppressor but not without it.

You can also order a "parts kit" that includes all parts necessary to build your own mags for less than half retail of mags in the store.

Fortunately my Ruger 22/45 can chew through just about any .22 round made unlike other .22's I own that are not Rugers.

I do try to stay away from the hollow points though.
You might have just gotten a bad batch of ammo, I got a box from Wally World one time and about a 1/3 of them just would not fire. I finally gave up and tossed the rest of the box and shot another brand with no problem.

Usually the Volquartsen Exact Edge Extractor (costs $12) will cure many of the Ruger 10/22 & Ruger MKI,MKII,MKIII and 22/45 jams, missfeeds, extraction problems ect.
