I have a Ruger Mark II with a heavy barrel. Is there any place to buy a standard lighter barrel. Trying to lighten it up for my son and wife to shoot.

yeah, Tactical Solutions PacLight for one, but the upper is the "gun" on MKII's, you will have to do a transfer.

Because of the way the guns are made, the barrels on Ruger Marks are not easily replaceable. The barrel is essentially a permanent assembly with the tubular receiver. And that's the serialized part of the gun. You might as well get a complete new gun.

I wouldn't mess with it, those are beautiful guns... Get a lighter Mk III standard for them to use?

I picked up a Mark IV 22/45 Lite today. It is feather light.
