I am looking for a arched MSH for my LW Commander. Looking for recommendations that fit. Assuming Ruger has a handle on proper tolerances for their 1911's any MSH will fit. My Commander has a Ed Brown "Wedge" MSH that is sadly out of production. Brownell's has pages of mainspring housings. http://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/frame-parts/index.htm?k=housing&ksubmit=y |

"Drop in fit" can be a misnomer in the 1911 world, but from what I understand the Rugers are held pretty close to standard spec.
That said, I'm a fan of the RRA Mainspring Housings. If you're looking to keep the lightweight theme going, you can save a few ounces with the Colt Polymer Arched MSH. They're light, affordable, and plenty durable. |
