Can someone fill me in on the details regarding the threaded barrel adapters please. Do all sr22's now have the ability to accept them?  for example, if I could get a deal on a new crimson trace model, would it have threads to install an adapter?

Thanks in advance.

The only model that comes threaded is the SR22PBT. I assume if the Crimson Trace model doesn't have the PBT at the end, it's not threaded. There is a company making a threaded barrel for the SR22 and you could also send your barrel to Tornado Tech to have it threaded.

Thanks for the info guys, I just wasn't sure how the barrel was setup.

I guess I'll jut keep my eyes out for a deal on the crimson by itself.

That looks just like the adapter for the Walther P-22.

I wish that were true. My SR22 was missing the adapter and wrench from the factory. I tried a buddy's P22 adapter and no dice. Different threads. In Ruger's defense, they did get my adapter to me in about 3 days.

Do they make a thread protector for the adapter?

I don't want to having to be swapping the tip back and forth all the time.

You should be able to use any 1/2x28 thread protector out there. Gemtech, Tactical Innovations, and several others I can't remember right now.
