Okay. I am a big kid. I am probably in trouble with the wife to. But guess what I did today?
I have been tooling around looking for an effective handgun for white tails. And at the local gun store there was a Super Black Hawk in 44 magnum. Man I wanted that gun. But it was pricy. Also I was interested in .357 magnum. Although I was kinda being talked out of it by local hunters. Anyway I went back to look again. And hope I could get them to come down on price. Well it was gone. Along with EVERYTHING else. No .357. No AR's. No nothing. Not even 9 millimeter ammo. Nada, zilch. Guess America has spoken up Obama. But I digress. Anyway in its place. A used Ruger Super Redhawk in .454 Cassul. I was sold and so was the gun for a tune of 700 dollars. It looked pretty new., No scratches or dents. No bad marks on the finish. Just a satin look. I don't know the year the gun was made. I don't know how many rounds went through it. The sites were just a wee bit canted. But it seems at times this is a Ruger thing. Other than that I could find no signs of abuse. It also has the 7.5 inch barrel. It says it can chamber and fire 45 colt. Yet I have been told this is a no no due to filling in of the chambers as the 45 colt is shorter and flakes off. Hope not. I wanna shoot the Colts. But if this is the case well... It was just so friggin cool. And at times this is all a man needs as an excuse. Even if the kid in him was making the descisions. Put on lay away and cannot wait to get my greedy hands on the beast. And hope the kick is not so bad that I flinch every single time. 
I must be a nut. First a Ruger LCR. Now this. And probably later a Blackhawk Bisely in .45 Colt. Then maybe a GP 100 or an SP 101. What say ye? Did I do good? What does the hive think of the Cassul? Sometimes I see a gun and drool. And later think I shoulda rethunk my think. |

I have one. Great gun. Yes you can shoot 45 colts all day long in it. Its like shooting 38 specials out of s 357. Not a problem. It can leave a build up after a lot of shooting, just clean thr e cylinder before shooting 454. Oh and if your not reloading now is a good time to start.
325 gr cast bullets at 1600 fps will get your attention. Enjoy!!! |

Thanks folks. Like I said. i picked it up and was hooked. My wife will ask me why I needed such a "big gun". My retort will be along the same lines I recently gave to a venemous anti gunner lady with a chip that over heard me and a friend.
Me...I got a Rock Island Armory .45 ACP. I like it. Rude lady butting in....Why do you need such a big gun? Does it make you feel more like a man? Why a forty five? Me...Why a forty five? Cause they don't make a forty six.....
