I am considering an LCR as a ccw pocket gun.  The light weight and size is a major factor in my decision.  Anyone have the .38 or .357 version and care to chime in with their likes/dislikes?  I had read some gripes about gas cutting on the .38 versions backstrap due to the aluminum frame.  The .357 version has a steel frame and supposedly no such issues.  But with the low round count this gun would see I don't even think it would be a factor.

Anyone have any holster suggestions as well if I take the plunge.

Thanks,
Mike

just got an LCR in .38spl with XS front sight.

nice gun..... maybe 150-200 rounds through it.

100% reliable so far.

I carry 135gr Speer Gold Dot in mine and use it as a backup gun on-duty occasionally.

I have an LCR in .38.
I like it well enough and it has an unbelievably nice trigger.  It's a bit on the bulky side for pocket carry however.

Thanks to all for the info.  Trying to find one in town so I can atleast hold it and gauge the size before I commit.

I bought the .357 a couple of weeks ago. I find it much more enjoyable to shoot than a J-Frame. The trigger is great. I couldn't believe how easy it was to shoot with .38's and .357's really aren't that bad either.

About the only thing I can pocket carry it in is cargo shorts. I love the gun and would never recommend a J-Frame to anyone after owning one.

I prefer the trigger of the S&W Bodyguard .38

250 rounds and no backstrap issues....nor have I seen any such claims backed up by evidence.

Love mine. Have a Smith 360 M&P that I will likely sell now.

The LCR shoots great, is very accurate for a 1 7/8 barrel, the grips that come on the gun are awesome, I shot 100 rounds of full house 125 gr JHP .357s the other day, though may hand was a bit worn out, I could never even get though 3 or 4 cylinders on the smith do to the pain involved.

The trigger pull is sweet for a factory gun.

It is my new favorite carry piece.

i have a 38Spl and yes the recoil kinda sucks, but i carry it often and i trust it with my life.  if i miss, it's not the gun's fault.

are the 357 LCR's P+ rated?

can one shoot Pow'R'Ball or Cor Bons out of one?

I really like mine in .38 special. The back strap takes all of the bite out of the recoil so I can shoot better and for much longer.  The trigger makes the gun very easy to shoot accurately too. The gun is also slightly thinner than a j frame.
