| I went to buy a new SRC9 and the gun shop had 2 of them. I was testing the trigger reset by holding the trigger back and racking the slide. I released pressure very slowly and the trigger just stopped moving forward and did not reset. Both guns did this and did it about 3 times out of 10. I did not buy one because of this. The trigger should reset every single time without fail. Do any of you have the SR9c and does your gun have this problem? I wonder if it would go away if the gun was shot a bit and the parts worked themselves in? Also where can you find mags that are not almost $30? I can't find them anywhere! Many thanks! |
| I just tried mine slowly the way you did , and it reset 100%. Of course, it has a few hundred rounds through it, so it is possible that it has simply worn in. I had never previously tried it that way.If it matters, mine has never malfunctioned, even with a complete newbie limp-wristing the hell out of it. |

Yeah it was cycled 100%. The trigger would move almost all the way to the reset but stopped short. I had to just barley touch it and it then clicked into full reset. I'm thinking putting a box of ammo throught the gun would fix this....I hope as I want one.
Also there is no difinitive breaking point on the SR9's trigger. Is that normal? On most triggers you take up a bit of travel and hit a stop point at which any more travel breakes the trigger and the gun fires. The SR9 was just an even pull with no warning it was going to break. |

Sorry it took me so long to respond...

Yep, mine's the same way. It feels almost the same as a Glock's, except that last little bit of required pressure is missing. Still, I got used to my SR9c pretty quickly, and can usually hit a head-sized steel plate @ 25yds with relative ease. Not that this is something to brag about, but what the hell; for me that's pretty damn good.
I seriously doubt you will be disappointed with it once you try one out. |

At my first shooting session, I had a number of times it failed to reset while shooting. I sent it back to Ruger and supposedly they have repaired it. I am lazy and haven't taken it back to the range to test it, but I have manually cycled it a number of times, and it now resets 100% of the time correctly. |
| Yeah I cycled the slide and let all pressure off the trigger and it failed to fully come forward. I they taped the back of the trigger and it popped forward and reset. I wonder if this is a wide spread problem Ruger knows about if they fixed the above pistol. I'll keep watching them at the gun shop as they sell fast. If I find one that resets properly I'll buy it. |
