How does this combo sound?

LCP with a belly band type holster. I want something lightweight and that I can wear in gym shorts/running shorts. I don't really feel like running with my 1911 I don't want a heavy gun flopping all around being a PITA. Rather, something lightweight and nice and tight to my body.

How do you guys feel about 380 as a personal defense round? Any ammo grain/types recommendations?

Tagging this, I bought and LCP for my Dad and he didn't like it.  So I got it back :)

No idea about the running part of the post but when I had my LCP I used 102gr Remington Golden Sabers.

Supposedly it has the deepest penetration of all the personal defense .380 ammo and the more rounded nose is supposed to provide more reliable feeding.  Also comes in an 88gr bullet as well.

there was a guy on here that used it for running pics and everything. he just clipped it to the inside of his shorts.
Im still planning on doing the same thing myself after running quite a few nights w/ my kimber ultracarry.
380. is better than nothing IMHO

Eta it was a pretty big thread, but my search fu is weak

I'm one of the guys that run with my LCP.  I put a keltec P3AT clip on the side, but it in my nemesis pocket holster with the clip outside the holster and then clip it IWB to my running shorts.  The wider the elastic on your running shorts the better (I tie them too).

Warning - PIC NSFW (or home for that matter)

just don't forget to wipe down your weapn after run. Sweat = Rust.

Actually, I use one of those back support belts and carry my 1911. Doesn't flop around at all. Gets wet though.

Not exactly like this one but same idea-

That's why I keep it in the pocket holster.  Keeps the sweat to a minimum - still need to wipe it down and oil well after each run.  Sweat is uber corrosive.

Bhart89,

Where did you get that clip and how is it installed?  Is it difficult to do?

$11.15 from Kel Tec

It takes all of 30 seconds to install.
ETA:  Mine is the 'right side' clip.

Stays put pretty good?

Yep.  Never had a problem with it staying in place or with it flapping around.

The one caution I will give you is not to expect the draw to be as quik as an OWB belt holster.

I've run 10k and 5k races with it but usually wear it on my 3mi trail runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I run quite a bit, I've been thinking about one of these, anyone have one?   I was considering the PT-2 since it seems to be the smallest

I just ran a 5k in Miami, FL over the weekend.  Took my LCP in a Nemisis pocket holster with me.  With the weapon in the holster and tucked between my boxers and gym shorts (with the shorts tied) at the 1:00 position, I had no problems at all.  Stayed put, didn't move around, and never felt like it was going to fall out.  The holster kept the LCP from getting too sweaty, too.  It was a pretty quick draw, too, as I practiced it at home before I left to make sure the set-up was feasible.
