RUST

I love my TLE II, I carry IWB on the way to work everyday. When I get to work, it goes in the locker, on the way home back IWB. I get home, gun stays on nightstand.
I shoot it pretty frequently and clean it pretty regularly. However, I am having a problem keeping rust from forming under the grips. It has the stock grips which are rubber. I have had to get some surface rust off of it a couple times now. It is very frustrating. Last time I even coated the back of the grips with a thin coat of CLP, which didn't help. I use Wilson grease on the internals which have no problem. The slide is perfect, so what gives with the grips? Any tips on how to get the surface rust off?

I had some surface rust show up on the end of the barrell on my Stainless Ultra.  Used some Mothers polish with a brass wire brush in my Dremel and it cleaned up beautifully.  Some light oil on it seems to have kept it from returning.  It's not wet in Alabama but I have Noah's ark parked in my driveway.

Put Rig grease underneath the grip panels.

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing. Wilson's grease. I guess someday I'll have it refinished anyway.

Yep, works very well and stays put unlike oil.
