Kydex is rough on a finish. Leather the only to go.. I have a couple light tan. If you've ever seek Chuck Norris it's the same, fast release & gentle on the finish. By the look one would think it would fall out at wrong time...yea if someone grabs you by the ankle's & try's to shake it out might...might..! It's  the angle & pistol's  weight that make's it stay there. For concealment..it's perfect the leather bends & takes the shape of your side, which makes it easier to conceal. Hell I wear my in the bank. Put on a t shirt & a regular shirt un buttoned & no one is the wiser. Except keep aneye  open for hard winds...lol

I have been using a crossbreed with my S&W 4014 (black) for about a year now. there are some wear marks from the kydex, but this is a gun that already had finish wear from carrying in leather for 15 years.

Love my crossbreed...

ETA: I have not seen any wear on the aluminum, just finish on the steel slide finish.

not to worried about the slide as it's stainless but was just currious about the frame as kydex causes wear faster than leather on the finish and the holster appears to grip the gun in the trigger gaurd area
