I got my Custom Shop Eclipse today. What a beautiful 1911. I havn't shot it yet but the guy I got it from assures me it ran flawlessly, and I believe him. I've wanted one since I first saw them. But even better, it's a Custom Shop run of 4500. It has a couple extras on it. Wilson Ambi safety, Wilson Extended mag Release, Wilson MSH with Detachable Mag well and 2 piece guide rod.

Thanks. I took the finger grooves off. Can't shoot it until Friday. I'll let you know.

I took it to the range today for the first time. I was shooting Magtech. Kimber mags and Wilson. 100% flawless. Accuracy is amazing. I've never had a 1911 that shot this accurate and consistant.

Grips came off the next day. Right now I have the originals back on but am having some custom grips made for it. I'll post pics when I get them. It shoots as good as it looks.

Sent the slide to Kimber yesterday for replacement sights. They were dim and Kimber said they would warranty them. We will see how long it takes and what kind of job they do. The Swartz is out of it. It will be interesting to see if they put it back in.

Hey, I carry a Glock on duty. How does your Eclipse run?

Over 15,000 rounds...no complaints. I can't ever recall having a malfunction on this gun.
Most of it FMJ, but it eats Ranger, Gold Dot, and HST...no problem.
It used to be my CCW, but, it started rusting real bad on the hammer and behind the thumb safety.
Mine is stock other than a new Wilson spring kit, periodically.
I've been meaning to do some things on it...

So far mine has been perfect. I sent the slide to Kimber for night site warranty. They put the Swartz safety back in. It was out when I bought it. I'm considering taking it back out but I'm not sure it's necessary.

I love mine.  I shoot it solely in every pistol/3 gun etc match I shoot.  I also had to have the night sights replaced; $10 for shipping and I got new front and rear sights.  What is the Swartz safety?

Swartz safety is the firing pin block that Kimber dreamed up for California sales from what I've heard. It is not needed but is installed on most of thier 1911's. I truthfully have not found but about 4 actual failures reported. Always that possibilty but then there are a lot of things that could go wrong with it or any weapon.

Thanks.  I found your other posts about it.  I suppose if I ever get around to it, I'll send it to Novak or someone like that to have it removed.
