What's So Wrong with them? I seem to see alot of people saying they suck.
I just picked up an Ultra CDP and popped off 100 rounds and didn't have any issues. Whats wrong with them? |

I got about 1 year out of mine and it started to FTF. After the slide cycled the next cartridge would nose-dive into the magazine. I chucked all my old mags and replaced them with McCormick PowerMags and have not had a problem since. I've had the same problem but only with the last round in the mag. I have since ordered 2 new wilson 8 round mags. |

The factory mag that came with my gun is the one that I mostly have problems with. I have a few of the Kimber 'KimPro Tac-Mags' that are pretty good. The best mags so far are my McCormick Power Mags. My McCormick mags have reliably fed several different bullet styles.

| The problem with the Kimber mags is that they do not have the removeable floor plates. I don't understand why Kimber chose to go that route but whatever. I shot with Kimber mags and never had a FTF. Only problem I ever had with my Kimbers is when I fail to fully seat the mags. |
| People have told me that they fixed this but when I bought my Pro Eclipse II the mags that came with it were junk, failed to feed reliably but worked just enough to prolong my vain effort to fix the problem. I switched to Wilson mags and now its not a eat anything gun like my Beretta but it's definently reliable with the cartridges that it does like. I bought it about seven years ago. Wilson mags in my opinion are the best for a 1911 but pretty pricey. |
