Why do they look like they've been installed by a drunken 3 year old with only one eye?

Because someone doesn't give a shit.

The CMC can be fit to a Kimber, but getting one to look really pretty isn't worth the effort.

The beavertail fit on my Warrior looks very well done.  Would a master pistol smith make it look even purtier?  Sure.  Could I do this good of a job?  No way.  I'm quite happy with it.  Sorry that yours came out like crap though.

you talking about a Kimber factory installed one, bought with gun, or sending your Kimber to have one installed?

I sent my pro carry HDII back to have kimber install an Ed brown that they advertise on their site, and whew...was I disappointed.
granted I build race engines and fabricate all sorts of stuff for race cars, but daaam the fit was and is horrible.
The frame was not radiused to match the grip, which hurts pretty good after a trip to the range, and the thing rattles and makes all kind of poor fitting noises..

No pride or craftsmanship was employed at all by kimber..sad to say as I have 3 kimbers, but will never send one to be "hot rodded"or "tuned up" by the factory.

I was talking about the factory fit ones, but thank you for letting me know about how crappy they are when you send stuff to them...

I replace the KIMBER with a CMC or EdBrown.

Never liked the feel  of the Kimber
