[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Kimber Custom TLE II

OK, i bought the above pistol in 11/02. This is my favorite sidearm by far.

But if anyone knows anything about them, it would be much appreciated. I have not been able to find out a whole heck of a lot on the internet about them. Any info would be appreciated.

Not a whole lot to know other than its the same gun as the official sidearm of LAPD SWAT.

to quote the Kimber website:
"New this year is the Custom TLE II (Tactical Law Enforcement) in .45 ACP. This pistol is an exact duplicate of the Kimber carried by LAPD™ SWAT, including Meprolight Tritium three dot (green) night sights and 30 LPI front strap checkering. Only the markings are different."

I saw a picture of that Custom TLE II on the back of my NRA mag (May '03). It looks VERY nice. I want one! What are they running these days? $600? $800?

I bet they shoot quite nicely.

Seriously, they are both pretty sweet. Maybe I'll skip the LEGP Armalite and get the pistols....hmmm....yep, that's what I'll do.

The TLE is a great handgun. Great fit, nice features, very accurate, totally reliable so far(500 rounds). A pleasure to shoot. It will be my main carry gun. I paid around $780.

Thanks for the info, guys. I knew about most of the stuff you were talking about but I didn't really know if there was anything left to find out.

I love this gun and recommend it to anyone who wants a .45. I picked mine up for $630, and when I see them now they are like around $900. And I only got it in November.
