I just bought a Kimber Custom TLE/RL ii .45, does it have an internal/or ecternal extractor? Also what is the difference and why is there problems with the internal extractors?

Look behind the ejection port. If it has an exposed extractor like a Sig or Glock, its the external. Otherwise its internal.

The internal extractor is the only way to go. Kimber tried to pawn the external off on us cause it was cheaper for them and people seem to think its better, but it was a failure.

In this photo you can see the extractor at the back of the ejection port. That is external.
