I bought a GC/R when they first came out. It had the EE and I thought I'd give it a try. I sent mine back in a few months ago to get it IE'd. Much better now. I think the new guns all have IE's. As far as your question as to how it compares to the other 2 guns...I don't have any experience with the Nighthawk and as far as the Springy goes, I still like the Kimber better. However, I recently bought a TLE/R to have as a "replacement gun." Shooting it has me wondering if the GC/R is worth the extra cost over the TLE/R. The trigger is a little better on the GC/R, but other than that, the only other "obvious extras" are a mag funnel and ambi safety. |
Kimber website shows retail at: GC/RL $1869 TLE/RL $1113 --------- That's over $750 difference in retail (I don't recall what dealer price would be)!!! Yes, the GC/R trigger is "better," it has a mag funnel and ambi-safety, while the TLE/R has a plastic MSH (yuck!). Only you can decide if the price is worhty. |
