I recently bought a ultra cdp II from a buddy. He didnt have the original stuff that came with it. Where can I find the take down tool that it talks about in the manual? I believe this is a must have to take the pistol apart. Since this is my carry gun, Im pretty picky about keeping it clean. Thanks in advance for the help.

Kimber gives them to most gun shops, or you can buy them from MidwayUSA.com. Or just use a paper clip.

Kimber will send you a replacement if you contact the custom shop.  A paper clip will work also.

Thanks to both of you. Paperclip worked like a charm.

I was going to say paperclip also. I have heard that if you call Kimber and tell them you lost it they will send you a few of them for free.

I have found that it is simply easier to Mongo (TM) it. You don't really need the tool, just pull real hard on the spring with your forefingers with your thumbs on the back of the guide rod.  You should be able to assemble/dissassemble this way.

I resent the shit out of using any tool to field strip a gun.  Therefore, I Mongo it (though I always called it the "Baby Huey" method).

MONGO, I love it. The paperclip works good, but isnt very stiff and bends too easy. After trying your patented MONGO method, I have to agree. I love this pistol, but cant stand not being able to take it apart easy. I dont  think the guy I bought it from ever cleaned it. It was a mess. Thanks for all the tips. Thats why I love this site.

Make one from a paperclip
