| So I just got a Kimber Custom 2 with the external extractor, and from reading bout them I see they are pretty bad. An that kimber was swamping out slides on them. Does anyone know if they are still doing this? The guy I got it from says it runs great, but I have yet to have a chance to run it. Thanks!! |
| I have one with the external extractor, and have not had any problems aside from a bad magazine. I called kimber a year ago to ask about replacement and if you are the original owner, I think they will replace for free. If you are not the original owner I think the charge is around $300, but don't quote me on the price. |

My EE on my eclipse broke about 3 months ago. kimber sent me another one, but it was too long and did not fit. kimber only has that one EE now, so they told me to send the pistol in.
3 weeks later I got back the eclipse with a new IE slide, and new night sights. I did not request a new slide, as I was happy with my EE before it broke in half. And would have been happy with a EE replacement that fit , and functioned properly. I have since run about 500 WWB FMJ, and JHP, and some corebons JHP threw it, with no complaints from me, or the pistol. eta...spilling

Finally got to shoot it. An had one Ftf in 200 rounds. An that was with wwb. But shot were I wanted and worked with all my mags, including some like new colt 7 founders I got for 7 bucks :)
All in all I love it. Now I just need a good owb holster, and I'm set for winter carry. |
