Purchased a new Kimber Stainless Target II in 9mm. I pick it up next Saturday after the 10 day waiting period. Anyone have the same? How did yours perform out of the box? Are there any feeding and ejection issues, which I might encounter?

It's sad that 1911's is the only pistol's on the market that make people ask the above question. I think Obama should put a ban on LOW END 1911's but I guess that would not work either since so many complain about 1911's at any cost. This prove's that we 1911 ( TRUE TO THE BONE )  Owner's will stick it out no matter what the problem ( IF ANY ) Untill the baby run's like a Rolex

We are persistent, are we not

This is just one man's take on the subject. IMO

Can I get an AMEN! If you are THAT worried about a possible problem in a production pistol ( believe me, any pistol can have issues out of the box!!! ) buy a handbuilt, custom and put your mind at ease. Sheesh

No......  But I saved 20 percent by using GEICO

Just kidding. I clicked the thread to check out the deal with the new gun as I may be picking up a 1911 platform pistol in the near future.

Good luck with the gun & do post a range report.

Godspeed...

Well, I picked up my new Kimber, today. Took it home and performed a routine field strip and cleaned it up. I did not particularly care for the plastic MSH. So, I removed it and added an Ed Brown Maxi-Well MSH. I also replaced the factory grips with a set of Esmeralda grips.

Shooting from 10 yards, the Kimber shot dead on, right out of the box. This gun is very accurate, to say the least. Shot 200 rounds of 9mm ammo, which was comprised of 115 gr. FMJ Blazer Brass, 115 gr. FMJ Federal, and 125 gr. FMJ Miwall. She ran all 200 rounds without any issues.

The 9 round factory magazine and the 3 Metalform magazines all worked flawlessly. It was an excellent first session with my new gun. This Kimber simply feels right at home in my hands. For me it has the perfect weight and balance. I am quite pleased with this purchase.
