I just spend the better part of the day putting a mirrior shine on my feed ramp. I'm a little curious as to what any other owners might have done to thier guns beyond grips. Show me your mods! |
| I took a grooved trigger out of my EAA witness and switched it with the one in my BE 9mm full size. I like having the grooves on the trigger, I find it improves the comfort of shooting. The frame of our beloved eagles actually come from Tanfoglio in italy so there are many interchangeable parts. If you examine your magnum research magazines you will find the tanfoglio T mark on the side. I'm planning to put one of the witness compensator kits on my baby eagle and then modify the comp to fit the fine lines of my gun |
Do you have any before/after pictures? I bought my 9mm compact polymer second hand and its trigger is grooved. |
| sorry, I didn't take any pictures of of the gun before and after. It isnt hard to do the switch, but you must be careful because there's a tiny tiny spring that will go shoot across the room and is hard to find and kinda hard to put back in. I think your gun has the grooves to meet the atf compliance regulations for importation. EAA doesn't offer a non grooved DA type trigger on their site, but you might call them to see if you can get the part. Polymer frame guns are imported with "competition" style triggers to comply with the atf points system. I don't think its illegal to change the parts once they are here. I think most glocks are sent over with adjustable rear sites and then switched out to normal sites once they are here...but that may be hearsay. |
I agree with Usafwolfe, I also wish that IMI (or Tangfolio) would sell the parts to convert the safety to a frame mounted safety. IMI used to sell the Baby Eagle as the UZI pistol with a frame safety and night sights when Mossberg imported them. I don't like the slide safety either. I'm not sure if the frame safety from a CZ would work but I need an ambidextrous safety since I'm left handed. |

I've been looking at buying a slide, barrel, and hammer from an EAA witness compact for my 941FB. Everything should be interchangable. Although the trigger/hammer grouping is a real bitch to pull apart, not sure I'd really go through the work just for a different look. But the slide from a regular length or compact should work on the compact frame. I would try a regular length on there before you buy it though, the dust cover may not be long enough. The real reason I like the slide change is to give the forward serations (love or hate em) and overall eiser to rack then the BE slide due to it being flat along the entire length. |
