Hi all,

My DE is standard black, and I have often thought of getting it refinished (especially now that it getting older and shows signs of wear).  Looks like there are plenty of companies that could do the job, but I would like to hear some feedback from those of you who have had the experience.  I am probably going with either a brushed hard chrome finish or black chrome.  Other ideas/suggestions are welcome, too.

BTW: trying to spend under $300 if that is feasible, and I don't see the point in sending it to Magnum research as they would just send it out and charge alot more that anyone else.

Thanks in advance.

Google armorhyde he is local to me and I have seen lots of his work and he is the man. He doesn't do plateing but be offers other finishes that are top notch. If you decide to use him let him know I sent ya.

Thanks!  I have actually considered either a KG Gun Kote or Cerakote finish, so I will check them out.

He does some kinda hydro finish that's pretty cool also.  He has different patterns and colors like diamond plate, snake skin...ect.
I was thinking about the camo snake skin pattern for my remy 700.

The more I look, the more ideas I get.  Now I am intrigued by OD Green and Black (two tone)...I think it might look great.  Decisions, decisions!

Do you have a pic of a DE in the 2 tone your talking about.

I'll try posting a link below (you will have to scroll WAY down the page to find the photo) ...

I think it looks great.  I may even consider doing just the frame and leaving the slide and barrel alone, since mostly the frame is showing signs of wear anyway.

I'm thinking about cerakoting mine two tone as well.

Black Slide

Or maybe sending it in for the NP3 treatment.
