Shot one today for the first time. The brass whould eject straight back and hit me in the forehead. Is this normal? yes, normal thing that happens when you don't use the proper shooting technique: it will nail you in the forehead every time next time use push -pull method: The support hand should pull back 40%, the shooting hand should press forward 60% and you wont have any more problems I still do it once in a while when I don't hold the gun properly and see one wing past my face you've got to hold the gun way tighter than you would a 45acp etc.. or most anything else for that matter |

It's "normal" if you let the gun torque in your hand; it wants to torque counter-clockwise, putting the ejector straight in line with your head...
Next time you shoot it, just make sure you're bracing against the torque as well as the recoil and you should be good to go. |
| My .44 mag hit me in the head twice yesterday with angry brass...It was my first time shooting it. Limp wristed those two. If you push and pull like your are supposed to. It won't happen. But I have to say I was impressed that gun shot so accurate! It is easily one of the most accurate pistols I have shot. |

I have owned Desert Eagles since the mid-80s. I have had lots of brass hit me in the head, and it does just take patience and practice. Funniest thing that ever happened to me was at an indoor range many years ago: a freshly ejected case landed and got wedged just right between the glasses and my right temple, and sizzled my skin. It wasn't funny when it was burning me, but I laugh about it now. I never forget that when I am shooting it now, so I always try for the best grip to avoid a repeat of that event.
ETA: one of the most accurate big bore guns available, if you shoot it right. |

I was shooting my .50 AE off of a rest and the empty came back and hit my forehead right between my eyes. Cut a little crescent moon and blood ran down my nose. It was cool. |

Jefe it is normal if you are not holding tight...
