I recently decided to change out the bobbed hammer on my USPc9 for a full hammer.  After receiving the part from HKParts.net, I discovered my old hammer had a recess in the side that the replacement hammer does not.  Now, I've seen USPc9s before and they had a short catch, but this one has a long catch (which stops the full hammer from making it to the firing pin).  Anyone know where I can obtain a short catch in order to make this install work?

I would start with HK-USA.  That's your best bet to get the thing you are after.

See if HK parts.net has a slotted hammer. There are two versions. I changed the hammer on my compact to a full size and made sure it was the slotted one.

They do not.  There's only one hammer listed and it does not have the slot. I even called them to ask about one or the other part and was told that the handgun parts are a relatively recent addition to the website and were not familiar enough with them to help. If I had apart number, they could check the website to see if they carried it. Of course, if I had a part number I could check their website.

Indeed. I'd already put a call into Travis at HK-USA when I posted, given that the e-mail address I had for them had permanent fatal errors. Very promptly got back to me Monday morning, covered the issue, and had a new hammer to me today. Fast, professional and, dare I say, affordable. I'm already back in business. If I had three thumbs, they'd all be up.

Now, if they only sold a civilian-edition G36!
