I'm normally a Beretta fan, but today at the LGS I got to handle a USP .45 and USP 9mm, both Variant 9.
I have got to say, this pistol felt WONDERFUL in my hands. And I'm sure it's been said before, but the magazine release = GENIUS! The LGS wanted $999 for these. No I didn't buy one. I'll definitely have to rent one of these to try out though. |

HKs are very good pistols, there is no doubt about that. but the prices on them is just so assine, all because of the HK logo. IMO they are 500 dollar pistols.
my advice, wait for one to come around, you can get a better deals on them in the secondary market. I picked up both a 9mm and .45 USP compact both of them var 1, for 450 and 500 bucks, both of them hardly used. no wear on the breach. the guy that had the 9mm, didn't have the manual or the factory case, he put it in a small PELICAN case and had 5 mags with it. the 45 came in the gray factory box 3 mags and manual. |

I just picked up a USP 45 for 500.00 and a USP .40 compact with a .357sig barrel included for 600.00. The .45 was made in 95 the finish is smooth, a bit lighter than new but no scratches. The .40 is from 99 and is virtually brand new. They both shoot great, no reliability issues at all yet (200 rounds shot each so far). You can find good deals if you look a bit. They are both variant 1, my favorite. I found these both locally and bought them within a week of each other. They also had a USPc 9mm for 600.00 as well. Sometimes things just jump out at you and scream "BUY ME" ! good luck, ––Dave |
| I Agree with you on the wonderful feel of these pistols. TO ME they feel like a natural extension in my hands, that's one reason why I have them. After I held my first one in the mid 90's I did my reseach, and the rest is history. BUT I wouldn't pay that much for one, And I'm an avid HK fan. Be patient and the right deal on a new one will come along, just stay vigilant and patient. |
