| I know that the USP in .45 has a fantastic reputation... does the USP in 9mm follow suit? Does it stand up to the reputation of its big brother and eat any/all kinds of ammo and function as flawlessly? |
| Got to have them all. I have a Compact 9mm, a Fullsize 9mm, and a .45 Match. All perform fantastically on all types of ammo. The 9-F gets the most use of the three of them, on the order of 2-300 rounds per week. It gets cleaned every two to three weeks if I am feeling motivated. Still works every time, without fail. |

As far as popularity goes, I would agree that the 9mm may be their slowest seller. Actually, next to last with the .357Sig being last. Seems like everyone is on the .40/.45 bandwagon, for whatever reason. I own 2 USPs & love them both, I use the .357Sig model for CCL. |
| Intresting post. I've got a .45 full size and a 9mm USP compact I bought for concealed carry. I swear that the 9mm in harder is to manage. I shoot terrible with it. The .45 is a tack driver. I've only got about 300 rounds through the 9mm, so I hope that I'll adjust to it over time. |
I'd agree. For a CCW, the compact is a bit wide (some people might be able to pack it descretely). The full size is just plain big for a 9mm as well (I'm not a fan of large pistols in little calibers). The upside is the compact is that its sized just right for alot of people. IMO the compact was like shooting a SA/DA 2nd gen G19 (similar in size), with a taller bore axis. Eventually I'll probably get a 9mm or .40S&W compact to go next to my USP .45 fullsize. |
