I've asked this several times at the gun shop. Seems ike mfgrs take about 1-2 years to follow 9/40 cals with their .45acp models. Glock did it with their 30, IIRC. S&W still hasn't hit a .45 yet in their compact SW 99 series despite having a 9mm & .40. My guess would be they look for the LE/civy market first & those may be the most popular calibers based on total sales. Sometimes you just have to scratch your head & wonder.
