| I have a buddy who is looking to sell his full size .45 HK usp with night sights, 3 hi cap mags tac light, box and papers. What should I offer him. This gun is a year and a half old with around 500 rounds down the pipe. |
| More important than what kind of night sights is what kind of light? Most night sights are pretty much the same price. The USP runs in the $800-$875 range new. Without the light, I might pay $600 - $675 depending on condition, plus whatever you decide the one extra mag that didn't come with the gun is worth. |

It is a used firearm.
The night sites are not to be considered in the price of the firearm as a plus. Round count does not matter either. It is used and therefore depreciated. If it is a full size used HK USP .45 in NRA good condition then I would offer $550 (fair price) as long as it came with the case and two mags minimum. Here is one for sale on GB for $550 and no one is biting. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=165278920 |

He'll probably refuse unless he's dumb or very desperate. The package that he's selling sounds like the LEO package that HK sells which normally comes with Mep night sights and three 12 round mags. IMO here's the breakdown- 1.5 year old USP45 with 3 mags (standard package comes with 2 and extras are 45$ apiece) - 675 to 700 Night sights- 50 to 60 Tac light- 70 to 140 depending on model and condition (Also does the light mount to the USP rail or does it mount to a standard rail? If to a standard rail then add another 30$ for that adapter) People can argue about night sights being worth anything but to buy night sights new it's an extra 75-110$ plus instillation. And I always have night sights on a fighting pistol. Above is what I'd say would be the upper limits of fair. Offer what you want but I wouldn't go much over the above and realize he probably won't go a lot lower. Now if it's actually an HK45 then add 150 to the overall price. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=88&t=762558 EDIT: The Gunbroker link shows a USP that has well used finish with only 1 ten round mag worth 15$. Also the gun is in a Grey plastic box which HK typically stopped using a few years ago for the USPs. (2001-2003/4?) Also based on the wear on the barrel I'd say the seller is full of crap that the gun only has 150 rounds through it. My 3000 rounds USP has less barrel wear. And what is "reported better than expected groups"? |

Quoted:
The H&K Tac light. Well it evens out because when his wife was expecting their first I bought a rifle from him and paid more than I should have to help him out..... Plus he knows it will be put to good use by me..... That's an awesome deal!!! I saw a used police trade-in USP 45 the other day at a local gun shop for $875. It had no night sights and 1 10 rd mag., and was very well worn. I thought it must have been a misprint, so I asked about it, and it was the right price...the owner of the shop even said he was FIRM on the price. I just shook my head and turned around and walked out.

Quoted: I purchased said H&K yesterday with all of the goodies and she is AWESOME!!!!!!! He even threw in 300 rounds of Winchester lawman ammo and 250 rounds of FMJ ammo. I felt so guilty I gave him my last $50.00 bill. Jeez he might have a crush on you. Seriously. |
