Just got through cleaning my USP for the first time and was wondering how to clean the mechanisms in the frame. I'm sure you are not expected to dissasemble the frame to get at these parts for normal cleaning. Any help would be appreciated.

OK, I will ask the stupid question.  Why not use carb cleaner? I have not but like a typical moron, why not?? I use gunscrubber pretty religeously or the dishwasher(I own glocks, please don't shun me!!!) when I do take the time to clean one of my guns. I do not own an h&k pistol yet,but just waiting for the fun show here in phx at the end of the month!! Monies have been saved and got the ok from the wife to bring home a new tactical!!YES!!!  what aside from gunscrubber should I use??  And to lube???
thanx

Cold Warrior:

I spray those parts with a LITTLE break-free (CLP), and then wipe the excess.  They need very little cleaning or lube to function.

Gun scrubber will eat the paint off of your gun. Becareful when you use it.

Then don't use it on Lorcins or Jennings, eh?

The S/F markings in white and red get stripped from the HK.  I did that and now have blurred the paint markings.  Does not affect function.  I can not say a word about Locrin or Jennings!

The manual for your gun will tell you exactly how to clean it.  H&K knows better than anyone else how their guns should be cleaned.  follow that and your gun will function perfectly.
