Ok so I picked up a used USP .40 in very good condition and have taken three trips to the range. The first trip I was averaging 8"-10" groups at 25yds off hand. The second trip I used a rest and got my group down to 6" or so. The third time I did the same with hand loads and only 1/2" better or so. These groups are horrible in my experience and I have had two USP 9's that were tack drivers. Could the barrel be shot out? And yes I did clean and inspect it. Any idea's would be great or this thing is gone.

Well, I'm no .40 cal expert, but it sounds like you already know how to shoot USP's so I'll skip over the dry firing practice to see what you may be doing with the trigger.
Let's start with the barrel. Is there any sort of chip or disfigurement on the muzzle? Does the bbl set down in the slide properly when you field strip it & re-assemble it? IOW, is it like your other USP's? If the gun's mechanics all check out okay, then I would tend to look long & hard at the ammo. Some guns have a love/hate relationship with certain bullet weights. Experiement with some different weights & see what you get. Forgive me for asking the obvious, but have you had other people shoot the gun? Sorry I wasn't more help...............
