Which type or brand of rail adaptor do you recommend to convert the H&K rail on a compact to a Picatinny/Weaver type rail for lights, etc.?

Where is the best place to purchase?

Thanks.

Surefire does a nice one. If I remember correctly, I's a bit less bulky than the GG&G. Sorry, I don't have either to sell you.

The GG&G and the Surefire, I have both, are almost identical in shape and size.  They are made a little differently but that is all.  IMO the GG&G is the best mount for the money.  The Pro-Mag is cheaper than even the GG&G but it makes the light hang down too low.

For a USPf?  If it's still available, I'll take it.

Edit:  Just read the OP again, and he was talking about a compact, so probably not.

I bought one a while back cause for $10, why not.  I tried it with a TLR-1 and it was total crap.  Not worth it in the least.  Most lights will be far to heavy for it to hold realiably.
