about two months ago i bought an used german police surplus P7 and a new P7M8.  I got the P7 to shoot and the P7M8 to put up.  I've been told that they are not making these any more.  any truth to this?  What is the collectors point of view?

Not making what, the P7 or the P7M8?  No matter, they are not making either any more according to HK.  The P7 has not been made for many years but the P7M8 just recently stopped production.  As to collector's value, the refurbed P7s IMHO have no real collector's value since they are not new, and they are not even used.  They are refurbs.  That makes them a nice piece to round out the collection and a good shooter, but I do not think they will go up in value as will the NIB unfired P7M8.  Now, if you had a NIB P7 or even a gently used P7 and not a refurb, THEN you would see that go up in value a lot.  I recently saw a slightly used Arlington imported P7, a used but not a refurbed P7 that was listed for $1000 and IMO that was a pretty good price for a complete lightly used unrefurbed P7.
Find a P7 PSP, one that is actually marked PSP and not just represented as the P7 PSP as often times the P7s are, and it will be worth twice what a normal non-refurbed P7 or P7-M8 would be. JMO.
