White_Wolfe, your P7 is a former german police pistol. The Nds-in-oval is the possession mark of the german state of "Niedersachsen" (=Lower Saxony), located in northern Germany. The police in Niedersachsen recently made a change to the HK P2000 with LEM trigger module. Niedersachsen used to be the only german state (Bundesland) other than Bavaria with a statewide general issue of the P7 to all police officers (the P7 had been used in very small numbers by SWAT units in other german states and by the german military police /="Feldjäger" for plain clothes assignments as well). The other mark (BWB under eagle) is a proof mark of the "Bundesamt für Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung". The latter roughly translates to "federal agency for acquisition of military/defense technic". regards, from_HH (who is a police officer in the city of Hamburg, just north of Niedersachsen at the Elbe river) . |
| Go here and read up on the pistol. The "World of HK" at HKPRO has tons of info but it seems the only section anyone cares about is the forums. |
Thank you both. from_HH if I ever get back to Germany I will have to look you up! Its been a awhile, but after going once I always think about going back for a visit. I dont think I ever made it that far north though. Excellent info! |
