| So, I've decided to put a Surefire X200B on my HK USP45 Tactical, but I need a rail adaptor. Who makes the best one? Surefire's looks pretty good, but I'm not even aware of any other manufacturers. What say you guys? |
GGG offers one as well. Supposed to be quite nice. Scott |
Is there something on the PS90 forums that can back up your statement, or are you just randomly telling me to visit. Why is the GG&G Rail the best? |

Can't answer for him but I base what I said solely on cost and function. Best value for the dollar is certainly the Pro-Mag. It will do everything the other two will do only it hangs the light lower, and that makes fitting in holsters designed for the pistol and the UTL Mk II darned near impossible. With the lower more slim-lined mounts the light does not hang much if any lower than the UTL Mk II so if the holster will fit the UTL, it will more than likely fit with the Surefire and GG&G. If one can live with the light hanging down further, then the Pro-Mag is the way to go if cost is a major concern. When it comes to the Surefire and GG&G, both are excellent. The only reason I prefer the GG&G over the Surefire is cost. They look almost alike, they both hold the light as high as can be done using any kind of adapter, and both are rock solid. It's just that the Surefire cost about $35 more and that is a chunk of change for many people. The one advantage the Surefire has IMO over the GG&G is it is a two piece unit whereas the GG&G is a three piece unit, with both side pieces separate from the bottom cross piece. I guess that could make it easier, therefore cheaper to make. |

Looked at GGG and Surefire...bought the Surefire. It just has cleaner looks and simpler design. Stronger too, IMHO. The deciding factor for me though was the clean lines. The Tac is part artwork to me...the Surefire just seemed to fit the lines of the pistol better. YMMV. B |
That is on the end of every one of my posts.. As for why it is the best - it doesn't place the light as low as the other models of rail mounts do. There are cheaper rails - but most people who buy the cheaper ones don't like the way they end up looking, and their lights then sit lower.... Visit: ps90forum.com |
| I would love to get a holster for my USP45 Tac once I put a surefire rail and light on it, but I don't think anyone makes one that will fit. I am holding out for Surefire's upcoming X200 with integrated laser. I predict that it will be a bitch to find a holster that will fit that setup! |
Unless the dimensions are close enough to the UTL...which is possible. They are about the same length, but what I dont know is the height of the bezel. The adapter makes it hang down from the frame, but I dont know if its enough. Only way to know for sure would be to find someone with both. I'm tempted to pick up a GGG adapter just to find out for myself... Scott |

Bought the Pro-mag first because I hadn't seen any other makes, WAY to bulky and the rear bolt immediately stripped when I snugged it down, useless and cheap. Bought GG&G because of the other items i have bought from them were top shelf. Besides, you don't put a $20 cheap ass access. on a $600+ gun. |

i have the GG&G and looks nice and works well. i have the TLR-2 it seems to me that the controls for the fore finger are farther away than they should be? is this affected by the rail? i have a pretty big hand thats why i choose the HK tactical 45 http://www.arizonashooting.com/forums/download.php?id=1681 |
It seems as over 1 million members and someone would have come accross this. I hate to purchase the whole outfit to figure out it doesn't work. Big Bore- do you have the 6004 that fits the utl? |
No shit...I think the TLR 1 may be just a little too big when comaring it to my UTL...The TLR1 is kind bulky in wierd places that you dont noticed until you compare it to other lights. |
