hello,

just recently got a HK v1 one of the eariler models and the trigger is a bit rough/heavy and could use some smoothing out.  granted i am still adjusting from my para ltc 1911 single action, but it still feels wrong.  i beleive it was before the 'change' that HK made to lighten the factory triggers.  i will either have gun smith do the work any estimates that people have paid, or are there springs, etc that can be done to lighten or smooth the trigger out?

thanks

Wolff gunsprings sells replacement mainsprings that will lighten your DA trigger pull. Check their web site & see what your options are. They make a good bit of difference, IMO.

No matter what you do, you will never get a 1911 trigger.  There are really only two options, have HK put in a Match trigger if yours is a full size (cannot put the match trigger in the Compact) or send the pistol to Bruce Gray of Grayguns or Teddy Jacobson of Actions by T.
The factory hammer spring is about 13-14 pounds.  Even going to the lightest Wolff spring, 10 pounds, it will lower the trigger pull by only 1/2 pound.  I put these 10 pound springs in 4 or 5 different pistols and all had their pull lowered by only 1/2 pound.  It was not enough that my fingers could even tell the change but the trigger pull gauge does not lie.  However, the hammer fall was noticeably slower.  I never had any misfires as some have reported with the 10 pound spring, but I felt better with the factory spring back in the pistol.  I took out all of the Wolff hammer springs and went back to factory in all the pistols.

I have an HK Tactical with the match trigger in it and I still think it sucks.I'm so used to my 1911 MC Operator and my XD .45 with a Canyon Creek 3lbs trigger in that. The Canyon Creek trigger is better than any of my pistols.

Is there anyone out there that does a trigger job on the H&K's?

besides HK, Bruce Gray and Teddy Jacobson are the only two I ever herd of that work on HK USP.

Dont know if bruce still works on HK's as he shoots for SIG.
