| I was just browsing CDNN, cause I'm in the market for a USPc 9mm. I saw they have the ones with the stainless slides right now. I guess HK is no longer producing them. Is there any difference between the stainless/two tone and the 'standard' black/blued one, besides cosmetics? Is it going to shoot the same? I'm not super familiar with HK pricing, but I do know that the two tone Sigs tend to cost a little extra, is that the case with the HK's too? |

Other than the slide material the SS and the HE finished guns are exactly the same. There may be a very slight weight difference (someone always chimes in to say the ss guns are .5 gr. or whatever heavier, big freaking deal) but that is all. In fact, the guns with the HE finish are actually more rust resistant than stainless. The parts that rust first are the extractor, hammer, and barrel, all of which are the same in stainless and HE finished guns. SS vs. HE. Totally a matter of personal preference SS guns usually are a little higher but now that ss guns are not longer imported (still being made though) their prices are going up every day as the supply goes down. |
