| Not a common problem but I have heard about things like that from all the major makers. Shit happens, not that an answer like that is going to make you feel any better. It could be they used an undersized sight or the dovetail was cut too big. The gun store is correct, once you buy a firearm it is yours and they cannot just give you a new gun or money back unless the store is willing to eat the old firearm. Once the weapon is sold it cannot ever be sold again as new even if the store returned it to HK and had it fixed to 100% NIB condition. Once the serial number has been recorded it is a used gun and that is why the dealer cannot just give you a new gun. We went through this exact same thing with a Bersa Thunder today with a bad jamming problem (like that is a revelation, for $250 you get what you pay for), he wanted a new gun or a full refund. Like that is going to happen; maybe with a huge shop but not with our little shop and its penny pinching owners. |
