Got out to the range today. About 50-ish rounds. No hiccups at all. A mag of 147gr Gold Dots, a mag of my carry ammo Sig 365 V-Crown and the rest was misc FMJ. Definitely easier to hold and shoot with the 12rd mag that has the baseplate extension. Mags are a stone cold bitch to load by hand, bordering on not able to do at all. Stole the Sig mag loader from my P365 to load my mags. Surprise it doesn't come with one. My range report. ETA: I was able to keep 5 rounds in a 3 inch circle at 15yds, when I was sighting in the dot. |

Academy Sports is now stocking these. Before today, they didn't have them on their website at all. If you have one nearby, stop by the store and see if they got any in. The website says out of stock, but I went in to get something else and they had one on display and two in the back. I wound up paying about $521 out the door for one. They are currently running first responder and military discount of 10% off, and they were doing 10% off if you used their credit card, that is normally only 5% off. But even if you don't get the discount, they are not jacking up the price like so many other places. They are still selling them for $599.99. |

I wish I bought some more ammo as apparently you get 10% off of ammo when you buy a gun. I would really be curious to know if you still get the other discounts as well as the 10% ammo discount. It shoots really nice and the trigger has a softer pull than I thought. |

Picked one up at an Academy near Raleigh over the weekend. 599+tax. They received two and didn't know when they'd get more. With my 27 which is, with the exception of width and about 3mm in length, nearly the same size. Much better pistol than the micro 9 competition of which I've mostly owned and sold; especially the trigger.  |

This is just an FYI. Over on HKPRO there is a thread with mention of an incident with out of spec ammo where the plastic striker plate failed and parts flew back into the shooter (eye). All the followup points to the ammo: Original was Ozk 124 grain (Turkish) Someone else replied later about a similar incident with Win white box. https://www.hkpro.com/threads/cc9-catastrophic-failure-or-ammo-issue.584411/ Otherwise, congrats on your new HKs. |

Every time I remove or re-install a Glock back plate, I notice it is plastic covered metal (aftermarket ones tend to be metal). Just naturally gives you a warm and fuzzy. If the plates on the CC9s are just plastic, perhaps they need to be redesigned? It has been surmised that the reason H&K hasn't been able to keep up with demand was a bottleneck in one or two of the parts needed to finish building the guns. Maybe this was one of those parts, and a sub-par manufacturer stepped up to meet the demand, and we are now seeing what happens when standards are not maintained. |

My initial thoughts are as follows. Five light primer strikes in a row indicates the gun was not in battery, or maybe the back plate was in the process of failing and not holding everything in place, prior to it giving out completely. In that thread, someone mentioned primers being set too deep, but that is not usually why light primer strikes occur. They occur because the primer was not set deep enough, and when the firing pin or striker hits it, it pushes the primer into the properly seated position. This can take more than one attempt to fire. Since he states no problems with other guns using the same ammo, I doubt this would occur five times in a row all of a sudden, on a different gun. If the back plate is in fact all plastic, it was either defective, or needs to be redesigned. I think he damaged it while mortaring the gun. If he was able to compromise it while mortaring the gun means the plate needs to be redesigned, unless it was a legitimate parts/material failure, and that is mitigated by ensuring the part is made correctly. The only time I have had to mortar a handgun, was with reloaded ammo that was not properly crimped after setting the bullet. Perhaps the barrel dimensions are a bit on the tighter side, compared to all the other guns he used the ammo in. Heck, maybe the chamber/rifling is too tight. Maybe a ring of brass came off of a fired case. Maybe it was carbon build up. Maybe, maybe, maybe. A lot of possibilities. A lot more than you would think possible considering the gun has been through testing for the past six or seven years. |

Attached File Just picked this up a few min ago. I’m not concerned at all about reliability, but I’m definitely looking forward to testing accuracy myself I don’t have a ransom rest, but I do have a Range at the house where I can throw down a few sandbags and get a better idea of the mechanical accuracy. One thing I want to note this is the first time I physically been able to put one in my hand. I thought it would be larger, but here is my standard size P365 laying on top of the CC9 Attached File |

Looking at the CC9 because I like something a bit longer in the handle. |

I fell like the CC9 is more slim but with the stock p365 grip installed I’d need my calipers to see a difference. I have the Wilson module and the CC9 is much more slim. I’ll keep my p365 for when I am wearing dress pants and a tucked shirt, but other than a difficult CC situation I feel as of today I strongly favor the CC9. I’ll be running more rounds through the CC9 shortly. I feel like the CC9 is a more trustworthy firearm for reliability but that needs confirmation. In the mean time I picked up a few extra mags. Once I’m past the 500rd mark and 30 days of carry I’ll invest in some more. Attached File Attached File |

It’s a very comfortable pistol for EDC and shoots great. The trigger isn’t anything to brag about but it’s got a great reset. I think the pull weight is appropriate for the mission. I carried a P30sk for awhile and it was just to bulky for IWB carry at least for me . The p365 is officially retired to a backup pistol |

Quick detour to the range before work this morning. Only ran a box through plus a mag of HST, but zero issues. First impressions - being almost the same size as a Glock 43X, its much less snappy comparatively. Pretty easy to shoot quickly. Since this was the Optic version the front sight was blacked out, I dabbed some white paint on it while waiting for the backordered front night sights. I saw online that the TLR-7 Sub for the Hellcat fit without modification, so ordered one. Arrived last night, and at least in my case, it didn't work without modification. I had to remove a bit from the locking key before it would attach to the rails, but it stayed solid during the session. Attached File I got a holster specifically for it without light that works well, but with the light it fits in a G19/TLR holster I had, little bit of extra space around the slide but good enough for now, it has no movement in the holster. It did not want to fit in a different G19/TLR7 holster interestingly enough. Attached File Not bad accuracy for rapid fire at 15 yards. I’ve gotten to put a couple hundred more rounds down the tube. It’s definitely a keeper and has officially became my EDC replacement for the P365. I’m keeping the Holosun on for now since the RMRc requires an adaptor. I was having issues with the settings getting bumped in my leather holster. I figured out that there is a lockout mode so all should be good now. That grip stripping looks nice but I doubt it feels great with a IWB holster. I already have a mess of dress shirts with small wear holes from tucked carry. |

I have all major small double stack pistols except shield. I also had Hellcat and sold it within a week due to executive recoil, not very pleasant to shoot at all. In my opinion CC9 is the best of the bunch. I would prefer if the grip was bit thicker but I can manage. I have 365 with Wilson combat grip module that combo is just about perfect. Just don’t trust Sig as much. It should have had trigger safety like Glocks and HK CC9 |

I held one at my LGS a couple days ago, and I really liked how it felt. Would have walked out with it, but the price was $749 and I knew I could find it cheaper. Very intrigued by this pistol and more than likely will own one soon, even though Ive never owned an HK before. A lot of reviews are saying how soft a shooter it is, which kinda surprised me as it appears to have a relatively high bore axis. |

I scored at Sportsmans Warehouse this weekend. If you have a Capital One credit card check your offers. I had an offer on one of my cards for 15% back on any purchase from Sportsmans Warehouse. I originally was just just intending to pick up some ammo and saw they had a CC9 in stock for pickup on their website for $599. I grabbed it and just got the confirmation email from Capital One of my 15% back. So I effectively got a CC9 for $510

I bought mine with the Holosun 407k and it was $799 at Euro Optic. So $749 would be a good deal with the optic. Without, not so much. It's a soft shooter compared side by side with other micro compacts. The only other micro i own is a Reflex and the CC9 slightly softer shooting enough that you notice it. My CC9 is very accurate. The 2nd mag i put through it was the best 40' pistol group I've ever shot in my life and then i shot a better one with the next mag. That includes other HK's and my full size Beretta's. Combination of it's accurate, and it fits me personally so well i shoot it better. The slide spring feels unreasonably stiff to me on my CC9 and i wonder if that has anything to do with the recoil feel of the pistol. Compared to my P30sk the CC9's recoil is viscous. But its a tiny micro so you cant do anything about it unless you make it heavier. The trigger on mine took some breaking in. I was worried about it out of the box but it's really breaking into a nice trigger. |
